Friends of Dewitt Parks donate money, time and effort to help provide environmentally positive public parks and recreation facilities

The Town of Dewitt is a climate smart community located in Onondaga County, NY.

Our Town is committed to the establishment and maintenance of attractive, safe, environmentally beneficial parks and recreational facilities for our residents. That is why we have an ambitious program of development, restoration and upkeep of our historic and other public spaces. This program is made possible, in part, by the extraordinary generosity and volunteer efforts of our friends.

This web site serves as an online home for the Friends of Dewitt Parks.

Ryder Park attracts fishing enthusiasts of all ages

The Willis Carrier Recreation Center (Carrier Park) is planned to be the leading, all-inclusive outdoor multi-sports and wellness complex designed for the use and enjoyment of the residents and visitors of Central New York.

Carrier Park will provide advanced level athletic fields that will allow for tournament competitions in little league baseball, soccer and lacrosse. As envisioned, when completed, Carrier Park will host an all-inclusive playground, tennis court, basketball courts, a picnic pavilion, baseball fields, soccer fields, lacrosse fields, a football field and a walking trail.

What's more, Carrier Park will be developed to meet the needs of all youth players, with handicapped accessible fields, playgrounds and other facilities, so all children and families may partake fully and inclusively in activities.

Carrier Park will provide fully accessible fields that will enable the Syracuse Challenger Little League Baseball Division to have a permanent location for children with special needs to play baseball on a regularly scheduled basis. This unique facility will also offer handicapped accessible restrooms, playgrounds, concession and parking areas.

When completed Carrier Park will offer handicapped accessible Little League and other fields, playgrounds and facilities
